Cross Helps San Francisco Cruise to 11-3 Win
The San Francisco Sailors handed the Chicago Cougars a sound defeat, 11-3, at Golden Gate Stadium. Lew Cross was a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for San Francisco. Chicago has now lost 4 straight.

With San Francisco leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Cross hit a curveball from Roger Alford for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Sailors ahead, 5-2.
