| Toronto Defeated by Cincinnati, 5-2 | The Cincinnati Cannons converted a terrific effort from starter Ace Barrell into a win over the Toronto Wolves at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The Cannons won the game by a final score of 5-2. The winning pitcher was Barrell, now 10-15. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Today's win puts Cincinnati at 67-81, while Toronto falls to 67-78.
The Cannons got a big at-bat from catcher Pete Bruce. For the game, Bruce was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 5-2 lead.
Cincinnati manager Charlie Britton called it "a pretty good win."
