| Arrows Suffer 5-1 Road Loss | Though the conditions were not ideal, the New York Imperials and Milwaukee Arrows came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The New York Imperials picked up a win at Dyckman Stadium, knocking off the Milwaukee Arrows, 5-1. Starting pitcher Emmett Thornton played a key role in the triumph. With the win, New York upped its record to 74-71.
Bill Wood, who finished 4th in the CA in doubles with 43 in 1970, helped out the New York cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"Emmett threw the ball very, very well," said New York manager Jim Abernathy.
