Foresters Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
Toronto left fielder Carl Clark pounded Cleveland Foresters pitchers at Forester Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Wolves from falling, 9-8. Clark was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Cleveland.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, eight-time All-Star Paul Williams had a real shot to win the game. Toronto pitcher Wilson Pearson was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Williams hit a run-scoring single. The Foresters had a walk-off triumph.

"Took some scratching and clawing," said Williams. "But we got it done."
