Millers Earn 8-6 Home Win
The Minneapolis Millers got a rain-soaked win over the Houston Comets.

The timely hitting of Tony Nava helped the Minneapolis Millers down the Houston Comets, 8-6. Nava was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Millers. Minneapolis pitcher Hub Huffman got the win, upping his record to 13-12. Joe McCarthy got the loss.

Minneapolis right fielder George Fisher contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 117th hit of the season and put the Millers ahead, 5-3.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Nava told the Minneapolis Citizen.

The win elevated the Millers to 75-70.
