| Comets Clipped, 7-5 | The Los Angeles Suns beat the Houston Comets by a score of 7-5. Los Angeles right fielder Sam Forrester deserved the lion's share of the credit. Forrester was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Suns. Alex Briggs closed it out for Los Angeles, earning his 7th save. The win gives Los Angeles a season record of 81-65.
Forrester had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Bob Young, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Suns a 7-5 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Forrester.
"We'll pocket this win," said Forrester, "and then go after another."
