The Philadelphia Keystones racked up a win at Broad Street Park II, bumping off the Baltimore Clippers, 2-1. Joe Downing, who started for Philadelphia, pitched effectively for his team. Philadelphia is now 68-79. Baltimore is 71-74.

Philadelphia took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Leon Stapleton hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Keystones in front, 2-1.

Stapleton told a Philadelphia Citizen reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
