Kings Winners, 7-5, at Stade Montreal | Thanks in large part to center fielder Tom Hicks, the Kansas City Kings beat the Montreal Saints, 7-5. Hicks went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Stan Reinert notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Kansas City has now won 7 straight.
Hank Williams came through with a big-time hit for Kansas City. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Winning never gets old," said Kings manager Glenn Carney. | |
