Starting pitcher John Carpenter gave the Milwaukee Arrows a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Cleveland Foresters, 2-1, at Forester Stadium. The triumph puts Milwaukee at 73-72 for the season.

Rich Moyer hit a run-scoring triple off Larry Warren in the top of the third, which put the Arrows in front, 1-0. Moyer had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.

"That's baseball," said Cleveland manager Ray Parsons. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
