Atlanta Squanders Big Game by Dugan
The Philadelphia Keystones weathered a fine game by Atlanta second baseman Walt Dugan to upend the Copperheads, 12-8, at Liberty Coliseum. Dugan was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. The loss makes Atlanta 104-42.

Bill Viviano had a big bases-clearing double for the Keystones in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 7-6 and the bases loaded, he got a forkball from 36-year old left-handed pitcher Curly Anderson and swatted a double to left. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Keystones ahead, 10-6.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Philadelphia manager Charlie Leist. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
