Cleveland beat Montreal on the strength of starting pitcher Adrian Czerwinski's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Czerwinski, the winner, moves to 14-8. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Cleveland now has a record of 77-58 with the win.

The Foresters got a big at-bat from right fielder Sherry Doyal. For the game, Doyal went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
