| Keystones Win at Home, 6-2 | Philadelphia Keystones starter James Powers kept the Atlanta Copperheads hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Philadelphia goes to 67-77, Atlanta to 104-41.
Leon Stapleton had a big bases-clearing double for the Keystones in the bottom of the third inning. With Philadelphia leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Dutch Wright, who finished 3rd in the FA in ERA with 2.81 in 1973, and swatted a double to right. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Keystones ahead, 5-1.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Stapleton. | |
