There was no shortage of dramatics at Whitney Park.

Houston left fielder Stan Francis had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-8, to Chicago at Whitney Park. Francis went 4 for 6 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chicago reliever Frank Carmichael was the winner. His record is now 6-6. Wayne Cooper took the loss.

The two teams entertained the Whitney Park crowd with some good baseball.

"Big win," said Wells.

The 5th-place Chiefs go to 61-85.
