Los Angeles right-hander Bill Dunlop pitched his team to victory over the Chicago Cougars at Cougars Park. The final score was 5-2. Dunlop yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-1. Ed Blanchard picked up the save for Los Angeles, his 2nd of the year.
In the top of the third inning of a 2-2 tie, Los Angeles shortstop Lew Smith hit a sacrifice fly. It broke the deadlock and put Los Angeles on top, 3-2.
