| Wolves Use Late Score to Top Saints, 3-2 | The Montreal Saints could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Tommy Jackson into a win. Instead, the Toronto Wolves prevailed, 3-2. Jackson threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Dick Miller in relief. His record improves to 4-5. Miguel Hernandez took the loss. Toronto is now 64-78, Montreal 69-74.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Toronto. That's when fan favorite Sid Cullen hit a run-scoring double off Miguel Hernandez to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"This place was rocking at the end," Cullen said.
