Cougars Absorb 4-2 Loss at Dominion Stadium
Toronto parlayed a decent outing from starter Arnie Smith into a solid win over the Chicago Cougars. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Smith, now 13-8. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. The win for the Wolves lifted their record to 65-63.

Cal Wells drove in one run for Toronto. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pug White. It was his 19th RBI of the season.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Smith.
