| Cannons Lose, 4-2, as Imperials Rally | George Love impressed in the 4-2 New York win over Cincinnati. Love, who finished 4th in the CA in on-base percentage with .387 in 1966, was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. New York sits in third place in the Continental Association East at 72-69.
Love had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 sinker from Herb Terry, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Imperials a 4-2 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Love.
Love told the New York Bulletin: "Don't care what other people think. George knows who George is."
