| Suns Squelch Dynamos Offense in Shutout Win | The Los Angeles Suns got a magnificent performance from pitcher Pete Meissner, who muffled the Detroit offense en route to a tight, 3-0 Suns win at Thompson Field. Meissner got the win, improving to 15-8. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed no runs. The Federal Association West-leading Suns are 84-59.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Bill Perry to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Suns on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
Perry attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
