The Houston Comets picked up a win at Whitney Park, knocking off the Chicago Chiefs, 7-1. Starting pitcher George Roy played a key role in the triumph. With the win over Chicago, the Comets improved to 76-67.

Roy was effective against the Chiefs, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Chicago to just 1 run on 3 hits over 9 innings.

Roy described his performance as "effortless." He added, "I felt in sync all game long."
