New York Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
The Kansas City Kings topped the New York Imperials, 4-1, in Continental Association action at Prairie Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kansas City pitcher Johnnie Higgins. The first-place Kings have won 4 in a row.

Ben Crawford dealt the Imperials a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Kansas City trailing 1-0, Crawford, who finished 3rd in the CA in triples with 11 in 1961, hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single.

"You can never predict what'll happen," Higgins said. "That's why you play the game."
