| With Late Score, Dynamos Beat Suns | The Detroit Dynamos picked up a win at Wilshire Park, knocking off the Los Angeles Suns, 2-1. Starting pitcher Jack Williams was a big reason why. Detroit reliever Paul Sullivan was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ron Clark. The Dynamos now have a record of 54-89 with the win over Los Angeles.
Virgil Ewing's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was critical. The Detroit third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Ewing.
