| Late Offense Lifts Boston to 3-2 Victory | Boston Minutemen starter Johnny Baylor pitched a strong game against the New York Gothams at Minuteman Stadium, leading the Minutemen to victory, 3-2. At 74-67, the Minutemen claim third place in the Federal Association East.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, slugging left fielder Dick Ward had a chance to be the hero. New York pitcher Danny Horne had other ideas. But with one out, Ward hit a sacrifice fly. The Minutemen had themselves a dramatic win.
Baylor called the win "a team effort." | |
