| Kings Capture Close Win | Seattle Kings starter Moe Lowery pitched his team past the Dallas Wranglers, 3-2. Billy Collins notched his 32nd save of the season. The first-place Kings, at 92-49, lead the Continental Association West by 17½ games.
Tom Hicks, who finished 2nd in the CA in wins above replacement with 8.2 in 1970, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hicks contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the tenth inning to put Seattle up, 3-2.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Lowery after the game. | |
