| Cougars Lose, 10-6, at Stade Montreal | Montreal played host to Chicago at Stade Montreal.
A good performance from catcher Garland Phelps helped the Montreal Saints defeat the Chicago Cougars, 10-6. Phelps was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Saints. The Saints now have a mark of 58-68.
An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when Saints pinch hitter Bill Gilman hit a splitter from Dick Champ for a 2-run single. Just like that, Montreal was up, 6-5.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Phelps.
