The Cleveland Foresters trumped the Chicago Cougars, 14-5, at Cougars Park. Cleveland center fielder Earl Howe was terrific. He was 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 7. The win for the Foresters raised their record to 70-54.

With Cleveland leading 6-4 in the top of the fifth, Howe hit a fastball from Bob Allen for a grand slam home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 10-4.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Cleveland manager Jim Whitehead.
