| Atlanta Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win | The Atlanta Copperheads eked out a 2-1 win versus the Baltimore Clippers at Peachtree Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jack Kotarski. He was terrific. Buddy Thomas picked up the win in relief for Atlanta, while Stan Boone took the loss. The Copperheads improved to a lofty 102-39.
Don Riley was the walk-off hero for Atlanta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Copperheads first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
