Millers Earn 8-6 Home Win
The Minneapolis Millers defeated the St. Louis Pioneers, 8-6. Doing his part was shortstop Rusty Robertson, who went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Sam Alston. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Ike Hawley collected save number 6.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the seventh. That's when Robertson hit a changeup from Manuel Hernandez for a run-scoring single, putting Minneapolis up, 4-2.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Robertson.

With the victory, the Millers record stands at 64-75.
