| Los Angeles Drops Another One, 2-1 | Minneapolis right-hander Joe McDowell helped his team edge Los Angeles by the score of 2-1. McDowell kept the opposing lineup in check. The winner was McDowell. He threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Bruce McInturf. Picking up the save was Bobby Crooks, his 11th.
With Minneapolis leading 1-0 in the top of the second, McDowell hit a run-scoring single off Los Angeles hurler Bruce McInturf. It was the 13th hit of the season for McDowell and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said McDowell.
