Wagner Helps Minutemen Beat Pioneers, 10-5
A 6-RBI performance from the 23-year old right fielder George Wagner helped the Boston Minutemen beat the St. Louis Pioneers, 10-5. Boston pitcher Ray Gonyea got the win, upping his record to 4-7. Steve Madden got the loss. The Minutemen, at 52-86, sit in 8th place in the Federal Association.

In the bottom of the first, Wagner had a 3-run home run for Boston. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Minutemen on top, 3-0.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Boston manager Bill Freeman.
