Whited Hits 2 home runs in Saints Win | The Montreal Saints beat the Toronto Wolves, 6-1, at Stade Montreal. Montreal left fielder Don Whited had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The 8th-place Saints hiked their record to 59-79.
With Montreal leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Whited hit a slider from Arnie Smith for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Saints ahead, 5-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Whited said after the game. | |
