Sailors Hand Wranglers 3-2 Loss | The San Francisco Sailors picked up a win at Norris Stadium, courtesy of Charlie Lawson. The right-hander helped his team stop the Dallas Wranglers, 3-2. Lawson got the win, improving to 13-9. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Eddie Chapman, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 23rd save.
Ernie Carter, who finished 5th in the CA in batting average with .340 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Carter contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-0.
After the game, San Francisco manager Chris Beck applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
