3-2 Atlanta Win Thrills Crowd
In a tight contest between the Atlanta Copperheads and the Boston Minutemen, Marco Middleton was the determining factor. The Atlanta right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Atlanta reliever Ike Abraham picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Ed Phipps absorbed the loss. Atlanta leads the Federal Association East by 32½ games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jay Hunter in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Ed Phipps to win the game for Atlanta. The home crowd went nuts.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Hunter. "I like it."
