| Sailors Sunk by Foresters | Boosted by the 3-hit performance of John Piper, who is tied for 9th in the CA in extra base hits with 42, the Cleveland Foresters defeated the San Francisco Sailors, 6-2. The second-place Foresters bumped their record to 69-66.
With Cleveland leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Piper hit a sinker from Jim Teal for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 5-0.
