Sailors Trip Wranglers, 8-2, in Extra Innings
San Francisco turned a fine outing from starter Sam Franklin into a victory over the Dallas Wranglers at Norris Stadium. The final score was 8-2. San Francisco reliever Larry Knez got the win, raising his record to 7-3. Gene Amico was tagged with the loss. San Francisco is 74-59 and Dallas, with the loss, 37-96.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 23-year old second baseman Heinie Spitler. Spitler had a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sailors ahead, 2-1. For the game, Spitler had 1 double and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Spitler.
