| Los Angeles 82-52 After 2-1 Win Over Seattle | The Los Angeles Stars got a good effort from starter George Dunnigan in defeating the Seattle Kings at Bigsby Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Picking up the save was Jackie Thompson, his 20th. The first-place Stars go to 82-52.
Had Red Standish not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Standish hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Stars.
"That's baseball. You just have to find a way to get the job done," said Los Angeles manager Charley McCullough. | |
