| Davison Slugs Keystones to 7-3 Win | Philadelphia second baseman Lew Davison had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the St. Louis Pioneers, 7-3. The winning pitcher was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Bob Gibbons. He tossed 110 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. With the win over St. Louis, the Keystones improved to 61-74.
Davison had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Sam Stephenson, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Keystones a 4-3 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Davison.
"We're producers not directors," said Davison. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes." | |
