No one was more impactful than Heinie Spitler in the 7-4 Minneapolis win over Baltimore. Spitler, who finished 3rd in the CA in on-base percentage with .426 in 1963, went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 3 times. Daryl Woods earned the save for Minneapolis. The win for the Millers raised their record to 68-68.

In the bottom of the ninth, Ike Barnett stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Clippers were trailing 7-4, but had the bases loaded. That's when Daryl Woods made a terrific pitch and Barnett grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Baltimore comeback.
