| Saints Deal Imperials 8-3 Defeat | John Roberts, who finished 5th in the CA in innings pitched with 252.2 in 1970, had a strong outing for the Montreal Saints against the New York Imperials at Dyckman Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. Montreal, at 68-67, occupies third place in the Continental Association East.
Montreal got a big at-bat from New York native Ken Steinbach, who in the top of the first hit a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Saints ahead, 5-0.
"John is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Montreal manager Harry Barrell.
