| Gerke Stars for Arrows in 5-2 Win | Tom Gerke made an impact in the 5-2 Milwaukee win over Cincinnati. Gerke, who is tied for 10th in the CA in triples with 7, went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Milwaukee starter Ben Ginsberg was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Milwaukee currently is in first place in the Continental Association East at 74-61.
Milwaukee used a well-timed hit by Dennis Miller to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Arrows ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice win for us," said Miller. "Now we'll go after the next one." | |
