The Montreal Saints withstood an impressive performance by Dallas first baseman Ken Hudson to defeat the Wranglers, 6-5, at Stade Montreal. Hudson was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Montreal reliever Duke Edin picked up the win, upping his record to 7-6. Chet Baker took the loss. The win makes Montreal 49-62.

The Saints got a clutch hit from left fielder Al Bennett. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Saints.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Bennett said in his postgame press conference.
