| Philadelphia Beats St. Louis, 5-1 | Philadelphia Keystones pitcher James Powers was in fine form, leading his team past the St. Louis Pioneers, 5-1. Philadelphia, at 60-74, holds down 4th place in the Federal Association East.
With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Powers hit a run-scoring single off St. Louis hurler Sam Stephenson. It was the 7th hit of the season for Powers and put his team ahead, 3-1.
"James had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Philadelphia manager Charlie Leist.
