| Cougars Get Thrilling 6-5 Win | Despite the exploits of left fielder Turk Ramsey, the New York Imperials were beaten by the Chicago Cougars, 6-5, in 10 innings. Ramsey was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 59-48.
The Cougars got a clutch hit from third baseman Mooney Vetter. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Cougars.
"It was a test of wills," said Buck Cuppett, the Chicago skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
