The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Bigsby Stadium, dropping the Milwaukee Arrows, 4-3, in 10 innings. Jackie Thompson, who finished 2nd in the CA in saves with 19 in 1973, was the difference-maker. The winner was Los Angeles reliever John Herzog, now 7-9. The loser was Bud Andrews. The triumph puts Los Angeles at 68-65 for the season.

The Stars got a clutch hit from right fielder Ed Bogan. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Stars.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Bogan.
