Eagles Defeat Dynamos, 14-11
Thanks in large part to right fielder Ed MacNaughton, the Washington Eagles clipped the Detroit Dynamos, 14-11, in 12 innings. MacNaughton went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and 3 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The 5th-place Eagles go to 64-70.

Washington used a clutch hit from Paul Barry to get the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Eagles ahead, 14-11. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" MacNaughton told the Washington Today. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
