| Chiefs Slap 3-0 Loss on Philadelphia | Troy Myers was masterful in helping the Chicago Chiefs take down the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-0. Myers got the win, improving to 7-10. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Dick Bradley was credited with the save for Chicago, his 1st of the season.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Chris Wells to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"You can't win if you don't score any runs," said losing manager Charlie Leist. "You don't need Confucius to tell you that."
The 5th-place Chiefs sport a record of 55-78.
