| Copperheads Spill Comets, 6-1 | Houston had no answer for Atlanta Copperheads starter Curly Anderson, who flummoxed Comets hitters as the Copperheads cruised to victory, 6-1. The win hiked the Atlanta record to 96-35.
Walt Dugan had a big 3-run home run for the Copperheads in the top of the sixth inning. With Atlanta leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Joe McCarthy, who is tied for 7th in the FA in complete games with 3, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Copperheads on top, 5-0.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Dugan.
