| Eagles Earn 2-1 Win Versus Millers | Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Washington Eagles and the Minneapolis Millers. Washington won it, 2-1. Washington starter Sam Rodgers was in command. The win belonged to Jim Hodges in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Daryl Woods took the loss for Minneapolis. Washington is now 55-76, while Minneapolis is 66-65.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chuck Moore in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Daryl Woods to win the game for Washington. The home crowd went nuts.
"The house was rockin'," said Moore. | |
