| Saints Roll to 9-3 Win Over Sailors | The Montreal Saints beat the San Francisco Sailors, 9-3, at Stade Montreal. The Saints got a fine performance from shortstop Art Robbins, who was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bob Nelson, the winning pitcher, is now 8-4. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. The Saints saw their record improve to 46-56.
Robbins contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Montreal in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Robbins took a fastball from Charlie Lawson and stroked the double to right-center. His 22nd double of the season allowed the Saints to leap in front, 2-1.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Robbins.
