| Millers Snag 2-1 Win | Minneapolis took on Philadelphia in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Hank Wagner, in particular, was fantastic. The Minneapolis right-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. Ben Baird finished to wrap up his 19th save. The Millers now have a record of 60-71 with the win over Philadelphia.
Minneapolis used the timely hitting of Clyde Allen to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Millers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Charlie Leist. | |
