Dalton Domed Stadium was the site for Federal Association action featuring the Houston Comets and Atlanta Copperheads.

The Atlanta Copperheads downed the Houston Comets, 6-0, at Dalton Domed Stadium. Stellar pitching by Jack Kotarski had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who finished 5th in the FA in strikeouts with 210 in 1967, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Kotarski. He threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jay Hunt.

Atlanta shortstop Jack Finley contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 33rd hit of the season and put the Copperheads ahead, 4-0.

"No disrespect to the other team," said Atlanta manager Don Fox. "But it's nice to get an easy win."

The first-place Copperheads have won 4 straight.
