The Los Angeles Suns withstood a fine game by New York right fielder Fred Davis at Wilshire Park, to upend the Gothams, 8-7. Davis went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Jim Perrin, now 4-2. The loser was George Libby. Los Angeles leads the Federal Association West by 4 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Eddie Kellum in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher George Libby to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.

"I like our moxie," said Suns manager Jim Coulter.
