Robbins Lifts Saints to 16-7 Triumph
Montreal beat Cincinnati in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Montreal Saints defeated the Cincinnati Cannons, 16-7. Doing his part was shortstop Art Robbins, who went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Jim Montgomery. His record now stands at 7-10. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits for the Saints.

Montreal used the hitting of Garland Phelps to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Saints on top, 3-1. For the game, Phelps had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
