Copperheads Collect 6-5 Win Over Pioneers
Thanks in large part to left fielder Gus Richards, the Atlanta Copperheads beat the St. Louis Pioneers, 6-5. Richards went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Atlanta reliever Buddy Thomas picked up the win, upping his record to 10-2. Charlie Christianson took the loss. The Copperheads have an impressive 93-35 record.

Richards had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Roy McDonald, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Copperheads a 5-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Richards.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Richards said after the game.
