Wolves Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
The Chicago Cougars got a superb performance from pitcher Roger Alford, but the Toronto Wolves still won the game, 5-3. Alford threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Bill Cox in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Augie Hicks took the loss. The last-place Wolves have won 5 straight.

Toronto got a knockout punch from Edwin Viramontes. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
