Pioneers Beaten By Dynamos, 4-3 | Detroit starter John Jackson pitched well against the St. Louis Pioneers at Thompson Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Bill Follis finished to wrap up his 15th save. The win gives Detroit a season record of 80-43.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Dick Tucker was at the plate when Detroit scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Dynamos to go in front, 2-1.
"We found a way to get it done," Jackson said. | |
